Nude Dudes Calendar
Well you can imagine the fun we had making these. Hats off (and the rest) to the boys for taking on this project - a really ballsy effort.
The calendars are on sale for £10 each - of which every single penny goes towards our Surf's Up! Boardriders Club - our surf club for local kids. Check out their page to see what they get up to. This year they won the British Inter Club Championships and were awarded club of the year by Access Sport, a charity that supports sports clubs throughout the UK.
The calendars are very good quality and make the perfect Christmas present. They come pre-wrapped.
To order your copy please either call us on 07760 126225 or email us on surfsup@saqnet.co.uk. Alternatively you can come to our office on the beach and pick one up. You can pay by cheque, cash or card.

The Nude Dude Story
Of course we're not the first ones to go down this line - the WI famously did amazingly well with their own one a few years back. But when you're looking at ways to raise money for a club, well you do what you have to do. And it's one thing to have an idea and quite another to see it through to fruition. We're really proud of the final product and as well as knowing that the money goes to the Boardriders Club we think you get good value for a useable item that's pleasing on the eye!
Some of the photos in the calendar were taken last year as it our intention to release it for 2007. However, we were a bit late getting ready and made a decision to postpone for 2008. All the photos are taken on Polzeath Beach, most were taken either in the late afternoon or early morning. There were a lot of shots that didn't make the cut - photoshop is good, but not that good. Maybe one day we'll put a few of the funnier ones out. For general viewing purposes we chose the decent ones.
The Surf's Up! Boardriders Club has achieved amazing success this year on the competition circuit. That's only half the story. What makes the papers is our domination in the elite ranks. But that would be missing the point. The club is about community and belonging. To fully appreciate what the club means to the kids - well you have to see it at first hand. Our Surf's Up! HQ is like a second home to them - in fact I'd be surprised if they don't spend more time with us than at home. They come to surf: to meet their mates; to use the computers in the office; to store their boards; to play on the skateramp; to fire up the BBQ - the list is endless. What they also do is create a buzz. There's never a dull moment when school's out. The bus pulls up and chaos rains. So the club is much more than just just about surfing.
All clubs have financial pressures - and with 240 active members - ours more than most. We're not interested in just doing the basics. We want to offer the kids opportunties that they may not otherwise get - and that's what we've been doing. This year we've been to France and Portugal - in Feb 2008 we're off to Bali. A truly pioneering and ground breaking trip. It's booked and 20 of us will head off to ride some of the greatest waves in the world and experience a different culture. What an adventure.
So buying a calendar for us is huge and we really appreciate it. It allows us to think outside the box and open up the members mind to the bigger world. We hope that you'll follow the progress of the club on the Boardrider page and support us wherever we go and whatever we do. Thanks.
