About the Boardriders Club

The Surf's Up! Boardriders Club has become for many local people and their families, a way of life. With over 150 active members we provide after school surfing lessons, overseas trips and club activities.

Although the social side of the club is very important, we also have a dedicated squad of surfers who train up to three times a week and who compete on the weekends. Within this squad we have two British Champions - in the under 12s and the under 16s divisions. We run three squads at the higher level - Elite, Girls and Under 12's. On any weekend we can have up to 25 groms representing the club.

We have taken our top riders on four overseas trips - twice to France, Portugal and our most recently, to Bali. This last trip was truly pioneering and ground breaking for a UK based surf club. It is trips such as these that inspire the groms to higher performance in their own surfing whilst at the same time broadening their life experiences.

The Surf's Up! Boardriders has become infamous throughout the competition scene in the UK and we are the current British Club Champions. Such has been the dominence of the club that the BSA, surfing's national governing body, have put funds towards bringing other clubs up to our level.

As the founder of the club and owner of Surf's Up! Surf Co. we encourage a positive attitude, a respect for others and the ocean and a desire for club members to push themselves in all aspects of their lives.
